While traveling, how often have you had to strain to hear music or words to a movie with the constant drone of airplane engines? The chatter of fellow passengers talking over the engines only adds to the distraction. A pair of noise cancelling headphones provides the answer. They make a dramatic difference in the enjoyment of one’s listening pleasures. Noise cancelling headphones are quickly catching on with those who travel often. As a professional traveler, there are some things that become a permanent part of one’s travel gear. Those who travel for a living won’t leave home without some things. The system’s electronics takes that information to create a set of sound waves opposing those incoming waves – effectively cancelling out the background noise.
Powered by a single AAA battery, the headphones function as normal headphones until the switch is turned on, creating the noise cancelling effect. If the battery goes dead, the headset continues to function as a regular set of headphones. With the noise-cancelling effect on, there is a dramatic difference in the quality and crispness of the sound. The Noisebuster NB – FX sounds great, but feels a bit flimsy when folding for storage and travel. How will they hold up? It depends upon the strength of the lightweight material from which they are constructed. Deborah likes them better than I—and now has them permanently attached to her portable cd player.
